Mr. Necmi Sadikoglu, the Secretary General of UNIW, have joined the conference with the topic of "the unity of the Nation of Islam" organized by the Muslim World League and continued for two days. Seven persons from Turkey were invited to the conference in which science men, official persons and the representatives of the non-governmental organizations from eighty different countries joined. The Secretary General, Necmi Sadikoglu had some meetings including with Mr. Mohammed Tantavi, Sheikh of Ezher and the Prince Turki el Faysal, in order to introduce UNIW in the conference. At the end of the conference, UNIW was chosen for the Commission of NGO.

The 15th conference of the Parliament Unity of Islamic Conference, in which 450 representatives from 47 countries, including 17 presidents of parliament, 8 vice presidents of parliament, and 7 presidents of committee have joined, ended. The conference was taken part at Istanbul Conrad Hotel where over 100 private security persons and over 200 national and international press members worked.

New York. April 4, 2006. A delegation of Kashmir Center, Washington, D.C. headed by Dr. Ghulam-Nabi Fai, Executive Director of the Kashmir Center met today with Mr. Shaukat Aziz, the Prime Minister of Pakistan in New York. The other members of the delegation were, Mr. Raja Muzaffar, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front; Mr. Sardar Zulfikar Hussain, Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference; Mr. Sardar Irshad, People Party Azad Kashmir; Mr. Zakir Husian Shah, Entrepreneur; Mr. Zubair Khan, businessman; Mr. Hyder Syed, Johns Hopkins University; and Sardar Mehmood, Peoples Party.

Friday, 24 March 2006, UNIW general committee met and 24 new civil society foundations members’ applications were accepted in this meeting. UNIW members’ numbers reach to 73 with these new additions.

As you know, a conference with the title of “International Non-Governmental Organizations of the Islamic World Conference: Research of New Vision in Changing World” was organized with the participation of Non-governmental organizations over one hundred from 39 countries in Istanbul on May 1,2005 and it was resolved to establish The Union of Non-governmental Organizations of The Islamic World (UNIW) as a result of conference. Furthermore, Necmi Sadıkoğlu, Chairman of Board of Directors of Turkey Voluntary Organizations Foundation (TGTV), organizer of the conference, was appointed as General Secretary of The Union of Non-governmental Organizations of The Islamic World (UNIW), Istanbul was selected as headquarter of the Union and Union Council with 20 members of whose 10 is original and 10 is substitute were determined from 20 different countries at the end of the meeting. The Union Council also organized a preparation meeting in July 30, 2005 for establishment after May 1, 2005.
